Saturday Crash Closes I-476 Shoulder In Lower Merion
The right shoulder in 476 north will be closed through the week, PennDOT said.

LOWER MERION, PA – A truck collided with the underside of the northbound Interstate 476 bridge that spans Montgomery Avenue Saturday, causing the right shoulder on 476 to close, PennDOT said.
According to PennDOT, right shoulder is closed on the overpass carrying northbound 476 over Montgomery Avenue due to the damage sustained when the oversized truck struck the underside of the bridge.
The restriction will be in effect into the coming week, PennDOT said.

The underside of the 476 bridge was hit by a flatbed truck carrying a high-reach bucket truck on Saturday morning, PennDOT said.
The impact resulted in damage to the concrete fascia beam.

PennDOT engineers inspected the bridge and determined the need for the shoulder closure on northbound 476 to remove any potential load from that area of the bridge, PennDOT said.
