Three Lower Merion Roads Affected By Various Work Next Week

Montgomery, Lancaster, and City avenues will have either lane restrictions or closures

PennDOT announced various work will impact traffic on three Lower Merion Township roads next week.

First, the right lane of westbound Montgomery Avenue is set to close between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. from Monday, March 20 through Thursday, March 23 for fiber optic installation.

The road will be affected between Grays and Booth lanes, PennDOT said.

Second, City Avenue/U.S. Route 1 will have right lane closures on both north and southbound lanes due to work on the $2.9 million safety improvement project.

From Monday, March 20 through Friday, March 24 between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., the road closure will be between Lapsley Lane and Bala Aveue, PennDOT said.

Lastly, Lancaster Avenue/U.S. Route 30 will have lane restrictions for utility improvement, PennDOT said.

The work will be done between Church Road and City Avenue from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. starting Monday, March 20 and ending Friday, March 24.

Motorists should plan for extra time when traveling through these work areas, or consider alternate routes.

All work schedules listed are weather dependent, PennDOT said.
