Three Projects Affecting Lower Merion Roads This Week

Two projects will hinder traffic on Lancaster Avenue while another will affect City Avenue.

Two Lower Merion Township roads will be affected by three projects this week, according to PennDOT. City and Lancaster avenues will see lane closures and lane restrictions to accommodate the work, PennDOT said.

City Avenue right lanes in both the north and south travel lanes will be closed between Conshohocken State Road and 63rd Street Monday, April 24 to Friday, April 28.

Crews will be working on traffic signal upgrades and curb ramp installation between 9 a.m and 3 p.m. daily.

Between Monday, April 24 and and Tuesday, April 25, Lancaster Avenue will have intermittent lane restrictions between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. to accommodate PECO work.

Work will affect the following intersections:

  • Lancaster Avenue at Wyoming Avenue;
  • Lancaster Avenue at Greenfield Avenue;
  • Lancaster Avenue at Rittenhouse Place.

Lastly, Lancaster Avenue will have lane restrictions between Church Road and City Avenue between 7 p.m. and 5 a.m. starting Monday April 24 and ending Friday April 28 for milling work, PennDOT said.

All work schedules are weather dependent.

Motorists should plan for added travel time when driving through these area or consider alternate routes.
