9/29/15 LAUNCH OF CAREER SUPPORT GROUP WITH NEW DIRECTOR
The Philadelphia Area Great Careers Group is all about improving the work experience of professionals

Coined as the “Mary Poppins of the Job Search Community”, Lynne Williams has been appointed the new Director of the Philadelphia Area Great Careers Group on the Meetup.com site. With almost 1800 members, the group was founded in 2010 by renowned career coaches Ford R. Myers and Eric Kramer. The group is gearing up for the launch party celebration at Villanova University on Tuesday, September 29th at 6:15 PM with national speaker Abby Kohut and special guest, Steve Burda, who is the most connected person on LinkedIn.
Lynne was chosen to lead the group because of her passion for helping others in the career transition and entrepreneurship community, whether they are jobseekers seeking full-time employment or considering entrepreneurship, or employed or self-employed people seeking resources for career management. In fact, her spirit of being a “Go-Giver” earned her the 2014 Empowered Woman Award from the Chester County Women’s Commission, as well as an Innovation Award from her employer, Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Fox & Roach Realtors. Lynne was also nominated for Warren Kampf’s Extraordinary Woman Award in the 157th Legislative District in May 2015.
Because of her passion for teaching LinkedIn as a volunteer for organizations like Chester and Delaware County SCORE and the Chester County Library in Exton, Lynne has gained a following as an avid networker who moderates several networking meetings a month and presents others topics, which can be found on a document under her LinkedIn profile. The Philadelphia Area Great Careers Group has some “amazing volunteers running daily Career Success Groups or ‘job clubs’ throughout the Philadelphia region, which provide support and information to help those in transition,” according to Lynne. When these volunteers land a new job, a new chapter facilitator emerges in the group to take over. Lynne notes, “It is extremely important that jobseekers are accountable and purposeful in their job search and also engage in networking as much as possible, as so many jobs are found via referrals.”
