"A Great Thing for Our People": The Institute for Colored Youth in the Civil War Era

Please join us on Tuesday, Feb. 10 at 3:00 p.m. in room 204 of Falvey Memorial Library to celebrate Philadelphia’s (First) School of Civil Rights with the launch of a new website. The website tells the surprising story of a school in Philadelphia that trained young African Americans to teach the freedman, to lobby for civil rights, and to train the next generation of activists.
