Harcum College Alumni Awarded
Two outstanding alumnae to be honored at the Harcum College 2014 Homecoming.

Barbara Boswell Brunner ‘77, a Retail Merchandising graduate, will receive the Outstanding Alumni Award. Following her Harcum days, she went on to found numerous retail companies in the Pacific Northwest. She recently published a book called Dog-Ma, the Zen of Slobber, a true tale of dog lovers and dog loving, which was featured in the Spring/Summer 2014 issue of Patches.
Ebony Fowlkes ‘07, an Animal Center Management graduate, will receive the Outstanding Young Alumni Award. Presently, she is the Assistant Director of Residence Life. While at Harcum, she played on the Women’s Basketball Team. Her love of the game inspired her to organize an annual match-up on the court in Klein Hall between the Women’s Team and the Women’s Basketball Alumnae since 2008.
“Both women deserve this recognition for their accomplishments,” President Jon Jay DeTemple said. “In different ways and despite graduating 30 years apart, they each model what can be achieved by following your passion and making the most of your talents. These women created opportunities where none had existed for the enjoyment and benefit of others.”
