Finding Shelter Animal Rescue began on January 1, 2010 as a no-kill rescue for dogs and cats. The organization was inspired by Sprout, a blind Chihuahua, who was abandoned on the side of the road in November of 2009. He was sick and afraid, and was expected to live for only a few weeks. But Sprout had quite a bit of fight in him and lived for nearly three more years before losing his battle with hydrocephalus. Sprout continues to be Finding Shelter’s inspiration, and they honor and celebrate his life each year with the tradition of Sproutfest.
This year Sproutfest is sponsored in part by the Brindisi Animal Foundation and Metropolitan Veterinary Hospital.
This event is free. Rain date is October 19th. For more information about Sproutfest, pleasecontact Finding Shelter Animal Rescue at (610) 272-2293 or visit their website atwww.findingshelter.org.
