MONDAY, NOVEMBER 10: Old Academy Players -- Auditions for BUS STOP by William Inge

Old Academy Players welcomes new talent! Director Paul Muscarella seeks 5 men and 3 women for this March 2015 production.

Auditions for Bus Stop

On Monday, November 10th, at 7:30 PM auditions will be held for the classic William Inge drama, Bus Stop, at Old Academy Players, www.oldacademyplayers.org, 3544 Indian Queen Lane, Philadelphia (East Falls), PA.

Director Paul Muscarella (stagemgr1@hotmail.com or 215-826-9051) seeks 5 men and 3 women for this March 2015 production. Performance dates are March 6th through 22th. Auditions will be cold readings from the script.

Rehearsals will begin in late November, and generally will be 2 or 3 times a week. Exact dates/times will be determined based upon cast availability.

Character Description

Cherie: 18 - early 20’s. Chanteuse (singer,) pretty, confused, fragile, grew up too fast. She wears too much makeup, and is from the Ozarks. Her speech is southern.

Bo Decker: 25-35. Ranch owner, cowboy, brash, impulsive, naïve, innocent and simple.

Grace Hoyland: 30-45. Runs the diner, Husband deserted her years ago and she’s come to terms with life. Has a romantic flirtation with Carl.

Elma Duckworth: 16-18. Waitress, naïve yet bright high-schooler, full of dreams and drama. Likes Shakespeare.

Dr. Gerald Lyman: 50s. Glasses, graying, alcoholic, divorced 3 times, former professor, likes young girls.

Will Masters: 40-mid 50’s. Sheriff, big, stern, means business but friendly.

Carl: 30-50. Bus driver, hearty, has seen just about everything.

Virgil Blessing: 40-50’s. Ranch hand, good-hearted simple cowboy. Like a father to Bo, plays guitar a bit.
