Ten Thousand Villages Store in Ardmore Offers Purchase Discounts for Donations of Cash, Clothes or School Supplies for Area's Disadvantaged Children
Month-long collection drive ends Friday, August 29. 15% of sales on final night to be donated to Cradles to Crayons to benefit youth in need

Ten Thousand Villages retail outlets in southeastern Pennsylvania and nearby communities - including the Ardmore store at Suburban Square - are holding a month-long drive in August to collect needed clothes, footwear and school supplies for low-income and homeless children in support of Cradles to Crayons’ efforts to provide the basics that the underserved children need to start the new school year “ready to go, head to toe.”
Shopper who donate money or new or nearly new clothing items or brand-new school supplies will receive 25 percent-off coupons for use at participating Ten Thousand Villages stores.*
In addition, each Ten Thousand Villages store will earmark 15 percent of its sales on the collection drive’s last night - Friday, August 29, from 3-7 p.m. - for the children served by Cradles to Crayons, the local nonprofit that addresses the poverty faced by one in five children, birth to age 12, in the Greater Philadelphia region.

“Ten Thousand Villages is proud to host this important drive that will benefit disadvantaged children in our community,” said Lauren Conner, manager of the Ardmore store. “Along with other participating* Ten Thousand Villages retail outlets throughout this area,” she said, “we are pleased to join forces with Cradles to Crayons in this event.”
*The 25 percent-off coupons will be good at participating Ten Thousand Villages locations in Ardmore, Center City Philadelphia, Chestnut Hill, Exton, Media and Souderton in Pennsylvania, and in Wilmington, Delaware, from August 30 to October 12, 2014.
