Urban Wilderness: Promoting Biodiversity in your Neighborhood
Upcoming FREE Community Science Event!

Tuesday March 10th, 2015 6:00 PM @ Landmark Americana
Why do we have separate lawn and flower beds? Plants can be native, exotic, or invasive, but what does this even mean? What’s the difference between wildflowers and weeds? Dr. Karen Snetselaar, of Saint Joseph’s University, will discuss why we have the kinds of lawns and gardens we do and consider alternatives that promote more biologically diverse landscapes.
Register for the event here.
Free appetizers and door prizes!
What is Science on the Hill?
Science on the Hill is a science café program that allows scientists to interact with the public in a relaxed setting, fostering dialogue and making science an approachable part of the everyday world. Each event will be one to two hours long and consist of a guest scientist speaker leading a moderated discussion and question-and-answer session on scientific topics of interest to the community.
Where is Science on the Hill?
Each Science on the Hill event will be held at Landmark Americana Tap and Grill, serving the communities of Wynnefield, Overbrook and Bala Cynwyd.
A special thank you for Saint Joseph’s University and the American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology who have helped to fund this project.
