Damar Hamlin: Bensalem Council Offers Prayers For Buffalo Bills Player
New Bensalem Council President Edward Kisselback opened Tuesday's reorganization meeting with some words and asked for a moment of silence.

BENSALEM TOWNSHIP, PA —Seconds after being named the new president of the Bensalem Township Council, Edward Kisselback took his seat Tuesday night and put all politics aside for a minute.
He wanted to focus first on Buffalo Bills player Damar Hamlin.
"As we know, if we were watching any football, that a gentleman playing for the Buffalo Bills, Damar Hamlin, is now fighting for his life in a tragic accident on the football field," Kisselback said.

"I would like all of us just to take a moment of silence to hopefully pray for him, and if you are inclined to do that, hopefully, wish him well in your own mind that he will get better. What a tragedy it was (Monday) night," he said.
Everyone bowed their heads. And then Kisselback continued with the agenda for the township's reorganization meeting.

Hamlin went into cardiac arrest during the Monday Night Football game between the Bills and the Cincinnati Bengals.
In the game's first quarter, Hamlin tackled Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins after a 13-yard catch. Hamlin got to his feet, then collapsed. He received CPR on the field before being taken in an ambulance to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center.
It was reported Thursday that Hamlin has shown "remarkable improvement" in the past 24 hours. Hamlin's agent, Ronald Butler, told The Associated Press that Hamlin was awake and able to grip the hands of family members at his hospital bedside., ESPN stated in a story Thursday.
At the end of the meeting during council comments, Councilwoman Stacey Champion echoed Kisselback's sentiments.
"Prayers to the football player's family and himself," she said.
