Chinese Restaurant Employee Fires Back At Armed Robber: Philadelphia Police​

The employee who is licensed to carry a firearm set the robber fleeing without loot.

A Chinese food restaurant in the Germantown area was robbed a t gunpoint over the weekend, Philadelphia Police said.

According to police, the suspect, armed with a handgun, entered the New Wok Chinese Takeout located at 5817 Wayne Ave. at about 6:14 p.m.

The suspected aimed the gun at an employee and placed a black drawstring on the counter demanding money, police said.

Another employee, who is licensed to carry a firearm, pulled out his own handgun and fired one shot at the suspect.

The suspect then fled the store after without getting any more from the business, po;lice said.

No one was reported injured in the incident, police said.

The suspect was last seen on Wayne Avenue, police said.

The suspect is described as a black male or female between 5-feet 1-inch and 5-feet 3-inches tall, with a thin build. The suspect was wearing a black ski mask, black three-quarter length puffy jacket with a blue hooded sweatshirt underneath, dark fingerless gloves, and white sneakers, police said.

Police said the public should not approach the suspect and should call 911 immediately if they are spotted.
