Jeff Groff, co-curator of Winterthur’s “Costumes of Downton
Abbey,” will explore the themes of this exhibition looking at the differences
between the well-known fictional English estate and a real one in America in
the same time period. Highlights will
include a look at upstairs and downstairs, the attention to historical detail
in the TV series, and the actual stories of life and entertaining at Winterthur
in its heyday. (Images of the costumes
on display in Delaware will be shown at this talk, along with historical
photographs.) Jeff Groff has been
Director of Public Programs at Winterthur Museum, Garden & Library since
2006.
