Memorial Fund Established In Slain Mt. Airy Man's Honor

Terrell L. Bruce was shot and killed allegedly by his ex girlfriend on Dec. 27 as he was driving in Mt. Airy.

A memorial fund has been set up in the name of Terrell L. Bruce, who was killed on Tuesday Dec. 27 by his ex girlfriend while driving in Mt. Airy.

The Terrell L. Bruce Memorial Fund was established to "honor Terrell's great legacy of community service and academic excellence by continuing his charitable efforts and raising awareness about his life while encouraging others to live life as he did; altruistically," according to the fund's website.

Bruce was the founder of the Nathaniel M. Kirkland Foundation where he coordinated annual community outreach events such as the Nathaniel M. Kirkland Foundation Basketball league and the Nathaniel M. Kirkland Bowling Party.

With the memorial fund, the Nathaniel M. Kirkland Foundation is now taking nominees for the Nathaniel M. Kirkland Scholarship.

On Feb. 23, the memorial fund will host a kickoff event at the four Iron Hill Brewery locations in Chestnut Hill, Maple Shade, North Wales, and Ardmore.

Brandon S. Bruce, Terrell's twin brother, established the find in January in honor of his brother.

The memorial fund is a non-profit organization and donations made to it are tax deductible.
