Philly Man Charged For Transporting Stolen Muhammad Ali Print Across State Lines: U.S. Attonery's Office

Gerald Garrett was charged for stealing the print from the Muhammad Ali Center in Kentucky in late 2016, according to reports.

A Philadelphia man accused of stealing a signed print of Muhammad Ali from the Muhammad Ali Center in Louisville, Kentucky in late 2016 was recently charged for allegedly transporting the stolen print across state lines, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office Eastern District of Pennsylvania.

Gerald Garrett, 58, of Philadelphia, was charged Tuesday with the interstate transportation of stolen property in connection with the theft from the center, the attorney's office announced.

Garrett allegedly stole a signed LeRoy Neiman print of Muhammad Ali, according the Associated Press.

Garrett faces a maximum possible sentence of 10 years imprisonment if convicted, the attorney's office announced.

Garret was arrested in connection with the theft back in December, AP reports.

The $5,000 print shows Ali in white trunks and red boxing gloves against an orange background, according to AP.

The case was investigated by the FBI and is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney K.T. Newton.
