UPDATE: Woman Charged In Mt. Airy Shooting And Crash

The driver's ex girlfriend has been accused of killing him Tuesday afternoon.

UPDATE, 5:41 p.m.: The woman being questioned by Philadelphia Police in connection with the Mt. Airy incident that left 33-year-old Terrell Bruce dead has been charged according to reports.

Martina Westcott, 27, has been charged with murder after turning herself in to police, Fox 29 reports.

Westcott, who lives in Roxborough, is Bruce's ex girlfriend, according to the outlet.

Police told Fox 29 the two had been arguing when she shot him in the temple, killing him and causing him to crash his Ford Expedition into a Subaru.

NBC10 reports the 27-year-old New Jersey realtor was angry over the couple's break up according to police.

Patch has reached out to Philadelphia Police for details on the charges and will update the story when more information is available.

Bruce lived on the the 900 block of E. Hortter Street in Philadelphia's Mt. Airy section, police said.

At about 12:27 p.m. Tuesday, police responded to the area of 500 West Walnut Lane near Parkline Drive for a car accident.

When they arrived at the scene, police found a 2003 Ford Expedition and a 2012 Subaru that were involved in the accident, police said

The driver of the Ford Expedition, later identified as Bruce, was unresponsive, according to police.

Police discovered Bruce suffered from a gunshot wound to his head and was pronounced dead at 12:35 p.m., police said.
