Our Mother of Consolation, Holy Cross School Make Case to Archdiocese
The principal of Holy Cross School spoke to an Archdiocese of Philadelphia appeals board Thursday about the possible merger with Our Mother of Consolation.

There is still a possibility that the Archdiocese of Philadelphia will reverse its to merge Mt. Airy's with in Chestnut Hill.
Holy Cross Principal Bryan Werner attended a meeting Thursday with an appeals board set up by the Archdiocese.
"They were very receptive to what we had to say," he said. "They were concerned. They wanted to hear from us."

Werner expects that a final decision won't come for a few more weeks because so many Archdiocese schools slated for closure are appealing the decision. "They'll announce it all at one time," Werner said.
Meanwhile, it's business as usual for Werner and the 145 students who attend Holy Cross School.

"School's open," he said. "No matter what the decision is, we have a school that doesn't wrap up until June 15th of this year."
The school will continue with its normal fundraising efforts, including several events that are open to the entire community.
"We have a wonderful community in Mt. Airy," Werner said.
