Springside Chestnut Hill Graduation Guide

The graduations will take place June 12 and 13.

Early next week, the Class of 2012 will leave Springside Chestnut Hill Academy and start the next step of their lives. For those who are planning on seeing the commencement, it will take place in two parts: Boys Commencement and Girls Commencement.

Boys Commencement

June 12, at 5 p.m., the commencement will take place in the school’s courtyard on Willow Grove Avenue, if weather permits. In the case of inclement weather, the graduation will be moved to the Kingsley Gymnasium.

Before the event, the school holds Prize Day in the Woodward Gym. Many parents attend both Prize Day and the graduation. Families and other guests are encouraged to arrive at least 15 minutes before the graduation, or Prize Day if they choose to attend, as the events will become more crowded as the afternoon wears on.

Those attending the day’s events can park in the middle school parking lot off Willow Grove Avenue. There will also be angled parking on Willow Grove.

Girls Commencement

One day after the male members of the Class of 2012 graduate, the females will be donning their caps and gowns. The graduation will take place June 13, 5 p.m., under a tent in the playing field behind the school.

Parents begin arriving as early as 4 p.m., but the school recommends coming around 4:30.

Parking will be directed by the school’s security team, and parking along the streets adjacent to the school is one way to go, including on Willow Grove Avenue and by the McCallum Street bridge.
