Rwandan Genocide survivor Emmanuel Habimana will present the lecture “Healing: Rwanda 20 Years Later” on Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at 7 p.m. in Gruber Theater, located in the Logue Library. Habimana’s lecture will discuss Rwanda’s achievements in healing after the genocide as the 20-year anniversary approaches, and include clips from his documentary “Komora: to heal.”
Habimana’s work as an activist began in Kigali, Rwanda, where he worked to help orphans of the 1994 Tutsi Rwandan Genocide. A genocide orphan himself, he began his career as a filmmaker in 2010 by co-directing “Komora: to heal,” a documentary about the orphan survivors on the Rwandan Genocide.
The lecture is free and open to the public. For more information, please contact Dr. Marie Conn at 215.248.7044 or email mconn@chc.edu.
