"We were so sad to hear of Maurice Sendak's death. The original owner of the Night Kitchen Bakery, Marie Tramontina, was inspired by Sendak's book and art in naming the bakery 30 years ago.

"We were honored to create Wild Things cookies a couple of years ago for the opening of 'Where the Wild Things Are' at the Ritz movie theater. We love his books, artwork, honesty and sense of humor. We are grateful for the art he shared with the world.  We are grateful having read many of his books.  We are grateful for the name of our Bakery for it is the spirit of the books that we love."
