Dormont's Potomac Avenue Reconstruction Progressing
The target time for the Potomac Avenue project to be completed remains

DORMONT, PA - The second phase of Potomac Avenue reconstruction is now more than a month old. Here’s where things stand with the $750,000 project to rebuild the road from Espy to Voelkel avenues.
According to township engineer Wayne McVicar, all concrete curbing , aprons and tree boxes have been completed from Espy to the tracks and all sidewalk areas have been rough graded with stone. This week, the fine grading for the paver walks is expected to be completed and the installation of new sidewalk pavers is slated to begin July 31.
Columbia Gas continues to install service lines and main lines on the north side of the tracks on weekdays between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. Police will designate closures as warranted, but the intent is to allow Voelkel Avenue traffic to exit on to Potomac and then either go north or south depending on where the lines are being installed.

While Potomac is now closed to vehicular traffic from Espy to Broadway Avenue, the sidewalks are and will continue to remain open. Access to Belrose Avenue is now restricted.
The project is expected to be completed by the end of September.
