2 New Central Bucks Elementary Principals Appointed

Effective July 1, Gayman Elementary and Butler Elementary will have new principals.

DOYLESTOWN, PA —Two Central Bucks administrators have been promoted to elementary school principals, the district announced this week. The promotions are effective July 1. Kelly Carter will become principal at Gayman Elementary in Plumstead Township and Kathleen Fantaskey will be the principal at Butler Elementary in Chalfont.

According to her bio posted on the district website, Carter has been the district’s supervisor of reading, English as a second language, and federal programs for the past year. She was assistant principal at two CB elementary schools from 2012 to 2016. She joined Central Bucks in 2001 as an elementary teacher.

Carter will take over for Michael Testani, who has been Gayman’s principal for the past five years. Testani will become principal at Linden Elementary in Doylestown Township. He is replacing Susan Klimpl, who is retiring.

According to Fantaskey's bio shared by the distirct, she began her career as a teacher at Butler Elementary. She has been assistant principal at Bridge Valley Elementary for the past year and was dean of students and then assistant principal at Groveland Elementary from 2011 to 2016. She will succeed Joe Brereton as Butler’s principal. Brereton will be taking a one-year educational sabbatical and will return to Butler for the 2018-2019 school year.
