Local youth swim, bike, run at 4th Annual Kids' Triathlon

The 4th Annual Dog Days of Summer Kids Triathlon was held on Sunday, August 5 at Central Bucks Family YMCA. Youth from across the region participated in running, swimming and biking activities as part of the annual triathlon which aims to encourage self-confidence and physical fitness in community youth. The proceeds of the race benefit the Y’s Community Support Campaign.

After opening ceremonies, racing kicked-off with the 12-14 and 10-12 age groups in the Y’s 25-meter pool.  The age 3-5 Wee-bee group participated with parents by their side. The race concluded with the age 8-9 and 6-7 age categories. The bike and race courses were closed roads around the Y facility and Central Bucks West High School. The transition area was a partitioned area of the Y parking lot. Each racer received an individual time but the race was a “compete to complete” race.

Doylestown’s Eastburn & Gray Law Firm and First Savings – Banking, Insurance and Investment are  elite sponsors of this community event. Anne O’Day Orthodontics, Tile Gallery, Marvic Supply, Interstate Building Maintenance and Advanced Sports Chiropractic are gold level sponsors. The collaborations between these sponsors and Central Bucks Family YMCA are vital to this unique community program.
