Bucks County Book Festival Partners With WHYY

​The Bucks County Book Festival, to be held Oct. 13 and 14 in Doylestown, has announced a partnership with WHYY.

DOYLESTOWN, PA — The Bucks County Book Festival has announced a partnership with WHYY. The inaugural Book Festival will be held in Doylestown on Oct. 13 and 14.

As a Bucks County Book Festival partner, WHYY host Tracey Matisak will be in conversation with the Book Festival’s keynote author and Pulitzer Prize-winning writer, Chris Hedges.

Tickets to the Oct. 14 event are $42, and cover the cost of Hedges’ new book, “America: The Farewell Tour." The event starts at 6 p.m. at Central Bucks West High School auditorium. Tickets can be purchased online at https://www.bucksbookfest.org/keynote-authors.

“We are thrilled to have WHYY on board for the Bucks County Book Festival’s inaugural year,” said Elle Green, Festival Co-chair. “The partnership makes perfect sense. Much like the programming found through WHYY, the Book Festival strives to celebrate literacy, spark imagination, and inspire people of all ages.”

Staff from WHYY will also be on hand to greet people listening to Book Festival authors speak in tents on Sunday afternoon from noon until 5 p.m. on the Hamilton Street Parking lot in Doylestown. These panel discussions are free and open to the public.

Tracey Matisak is an award-winning journalist, a dynamic speaker and trainer, and a seasoned program host. With more than 25 years of major market television and radio experience, she has anchored numerous special projects for WHYY-TV/PBS in Philadelphia and has also served as a regular guest host on WHYY’s Radio Times.
