CB East's Patriot Players Drama Club Wins One-Act Play Award At Acting Conference

The actors presented a production of "I Never Saw Another Butterfly," which tells the story of children caught in the Holocaust.

Central Bucks High School East's Patriot Players drama club participated in the PA Thespian Conference in York recently and were honored for a one-act show they performed at the conference, according to the district.

The student actors were recognized for their production of "I Never Saw Another Butterfly" which won the "Outstanding One-Act" play honor at the conference, the district said.

"I Never Saw Another Butterfly" tells the story of children being held at the Theresienstadt concentration camp in German-controlled Czechoslovakia during the Holocaust.

According to the district, conference adjudicators said the Patriot Players' production was: "Very well-crafted, visually interesting, beautiful- powerful- overwhelming- goes directly to the purpose of Art."

The Patriot Players were chosen to represent Pennsylvania Thespians at the International Thespian Festival in Lincoln, Neb. , June 19 through June 24, 2017, the district said. The Patriot Players will represent both CB East and Pennsylvania on not just a national but international level at the festival, the district said.

Students also met thespians from all over the state and enjoyed multiple productions, workshops, competitions, and social gatherings.
