CB South Holding 'Mini THON' On March 10
The event will raise money for childhood cancer. So far, more than $15,000 has already been raised.
Central Bucks High School South will raise money to support the fight against cancer during its first-ever mini-THON on Friday, March 10. The event, which takes its name from the popular Penn State tradition, will be held from 4-10 p.m. and will include guest speakers, live music and dancing.
Here are the details, according to information from Central Bucks School District:
- Guest speakers will present at the top of every hour, followed by an hourly group line dance, group games, and free dance.
- The winners of the school’s recent “Battle of the Bands” event will provide ambiance at dinner.
- During Community Hour, from 7-8 pm, South is welcoming parents, siblings, and neighbors to enjoy a guest speaker, dancing, and some rousing student team competitions.
- At 8 pm, there will be a luminary walk in honor of those who have been affected by childhood cancer
- After the 10 pm closing ceremony, the final money tally for the mini-THON will be announced.
According to the district, 700 students have signed up to participate. So far, $15,000 has been raised. If you'd like to support the cause, click here to make a donation.
