CB West Student Awarded At World Puzzle Championship

Walker Anderson intends to complete a puzzle-related science research project with the CB West Research Club this year.

A Central Bucks West sophomore recently competed in the World Puzzle Championship, an annual competition featuring pure-logic puzzles based on universal principles, according to an announcement from the district.

Walker Anderson was a member of Team USA, which placed third in the team competition out of 50 teams from 25 countries. Walker placed 10th in the individual round out of 197 individual competitors and second in the Under 18 category.

Walker also received the Newcomer Award for the highest points earned as a first time competitor out of 42 new competitors this year.

"Many competitors commended Walker, stating that it is very unusual for a newcomer to make the top 10. The student was thrilled to meet his puzzler idols," the district said in its announcement.

Walker, a Science Research Club member, intends to complete a puzzle-related science research project this year. He's hoping to compete for the US again next year at the World Puzzle Championship in India.
