Central Bucks Adds 9th Grade Sports
New 9th grade sports will include softball, baseball, soccer and basketball.
DOYLESTOWN, PA — Starting next year, ninth graders in the Central Bucks School District will have six more sports to choose from. The Central Bucks School District will be offering ninth grade teams in softball and baseball (spring), girls and boys soccer (fall), and boys and girls basketball (winter).
Ninth graders can still try out for the junior varsity and varsity teams at the high school level.
"Athletes who do not make the high school team will be encouraged to join the ninth-grade team at their respective middle schools," Central Bucks School District said in an announcement.

The district plans to provide additional shuttle buses from middle schools to high schools and internal district competitions. "That will allow our middle school athletes to remain in class until the end of the school day in an effort not to lose academic time. The only loss of class time will come to accommodate out-of-district contests," the district said.
