Coldest Weather Since February Impacting SEPTA Schedules

The coldest weather since February 2015 is impacting regional rail travel throughout the Philadelphia area, SEPTA announced Tuesday.

The Philadelphia region is experiencing the coldest weather in nearly 11 months.

A low temperature of 12 degrees was recorded Tuesday, and the National Weather Service says the wind chill could make it feel below zero. The Philadelphia Inquirer reported Tuesday’s weather was the coldest since Feb. 24.

Code Blue weather alerts are in place in several counties, including in Bucks and Montgomery, as well as in Philadelphia.

Temperatures overnight Tuesday into Wednesday will stay frigid, with single-digits expected in the Philadelphia region. On Wednesday, a high in the upper 30s is expected. And by Thursday, the thermometer will go back up to the 40s, according to the National Weather Service.
