Doylestown To Brave 'Coldest Night' In Support Of County's Homeless
Bucks County fundraising walk for the homeless taking place on Feb. 24 in Doylestown Borough.

DOYLESTOWN, PA — Four Bucks County nonprofits are asking the community to bundle up, step outside, and raise some cold, hard cash for the homeless during "the Coldest Night of the Year."
The family-friendly winter fundraising walk will step off on Feb. 24 in Doylestown Borough in support of the programs and services of the YWCA Bucks County, the Bucks County Opportunity Council (BCOC), the Bucks County Housing Group (BCHG), and Family Service Association of Bucks County (FSA).
The Coldest Night Of the Year walk will begin at the Bucks County Justice Center where walkers will register and turn in the results of their fundraising efforts.

Organizers said by walking together in the chill of the night, participants will get a taste of what it's like being homeless and on the streets during the cold winter months.

Participants will walk a 2K route and will warm up with toasty drinks at rest stops along the way. The walk will conclude inside the James Lorah Auditorium with a warm meal and time to celebrate achievements.
Participants take part in last year's event in Doylestown Borough.
All those who raise more than $150 (or $75 for youth) will receive iconic beanies to wear as they face the cold night. To register, donate or volunteer click here.
This is YWCA, BCOC, BCHG and FSA's second year taking part in the Coldest Night of the Year, with a fundraising goal of $50,000. Last year the event brought out 200 walkers including staff, board and friends of the organizations who came out to brave the cold winter's night.
YWCA, BCOC, BCHG and FSA have been serving Bucks County for more than 40 years, and the funds raised in the Coldest Night of the Year will benefit their efforts at a time of the year known historically for low levels of giving.
