Doylestown Historians Announce Upcoming USA 250 Celebration Events
The events are designed to engage the community with the rich history of the colonial era and the American Revolution.

DOYLESTOWN, PA — The Doylestown Historical Society continues its series of special events celebrating the nation's 25oth birthday this month with lectures, tastings, and historical discussions.

- “An Evening of Brews, Bites and Brewing History” on Thursday, April 16, beginning at 6 p.m. at the Waterwheel Tavern, 4424 Old Easton Road, Doylestown. Participants will enjoy a beer tasting and a lecture on colonial brewing with Rich Wagner, beer historian and brewer. Jim Daven will also provide a brief history of the tavern. The tasting will be followed by a three-course dinner. Tickets are $60 per person and must be purchased in advance.

- A free “Between Conscience and Country” panel discussion will be held on Sunday, April 19, beginning at 2 p.m. at the Doylestown Borough Hall, 10 Doyle Street. This is the fourth lecture in the USA 250 series, in collaboration with the
Friends of the Doylestown Library. The program will explore the history of the local Quaker community during the American Revolution. Admission is free, but seats are limited. Reservations are required.
