Doylestown Man Charged With Strangulation After Assault: Police

A Doylestown man has been charged with strangulation after an assault in the borough, police said.

A Doylestown man has been charged with strangulation after an assault late last month, Central Bucks Regional Police said. According to police, Sean Legrande, 47, strangled another man during an altercation at an apartment in the area of Wood and Clinton streets.

The victim knew Legrande and invited him to his apartment. An argument ensued, and Legrande allegedly grabbed victim by the neck with both hands, applied pressure, and pinned his arms down in an attempt to prevent him from leaving, police said.

The victim was able to escape and call 911.

Legrande was arraigned and his bail was set at 10 percent of $25,000. He was unable to make bail and is in jail awaiting his preliminary hearing on June 25. He was ordered to have no contact with the victim.
