Election Results: Leaders In The Central Bucks School Board Race

Doylestown area voters picked their nominees on Tuesday for school board, township supervisor and borough council.

DOYLESTOWN, PA — The polls have officially closed across Bucks County on the May 16 Primary Election in Pennsylvania. Patch will be updating the numbers throughout the evening as they are tallied.

Republican and Democrat voters in the Doylestown area went to the polls on Tuesday to select their candidates for the November election.

Contested races included Bucks County Commissioner (Republican ballot), Bucks County Coroner (Democratic ballot), Doylestown Township and the New Britain Township Board of Supervisors (GOP ballot) and Chalfont Borough Council (Democratic ballot).

There's also the big race for five open seats on the Central Bucks School Board. Eleven candidates are vying for five open seats, including a three way contest in Region 3 that will be determined on Tuesday.

Headlining the county races is a contested battle on the Democratic side for Bucks County coroner between incumbent Meredith Buck and challenger Patti Campi.

Buck ran on her record as coroner for the past three years, saying she guided her office through the pandemic and also launched a program to bring proper military burials to unclaimed veterans.

Campi campaigned to share county-specific data regarding the opioid crisis and mental health issues faced by residents of Bucks County.

Republicans also selected their candidates for Bucks County Commissioner in a contested three-way race with incumbent Gene DiGirolamo, Bucks County Controller Pamela A. Van Blunk and former Bucks County Commissioner Andrew L. Warren running for the party's nomination for November.

Leading the race for their party's nomination for two open seats on the Doylestown Township Board of Supervisors are Patricia Murphy and Robert Caroselli, who ran as the endorsed Republican team. They faced a challenge from Joe Van Houten who is currently trailing in the vote count.

New Britain Township Board of Supervisors

Republican (Vote for 2)

  • Scott W. Fischer - 540 votes
  • Gregory T. Hood - 547 votes
  • Brian P. Dutill - 303 votes

Leading the race for their party's nomination for two open seats on the board of supervisors in New Britain Township are Gregory Hood and Scott Fischer. Brian Dutill is currently trailing in the vote count.
