The Central Bucks School Board intends to take final action on a contract for superintendent candidate John Kopicki during a meeting Tuesday

The Central Bucks School Board intends to take final action on a contract for superintendent candidate John Kopicki during a meeting Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.

"At this writing, Mr. Kopicki's contract remains under consideration. It is the Board's intent to place it on the agenda for final action at the next meeting on Tuesday, April 12, at 7:30 pm.," the school board said in a statement posted to the website Friday.

Kopicki, who has already announced he's leaving his position as a first-year superintendent in Altoona, visited the district and participated in a public forum on Tuesday.

The hiring of a new Superintendent is ultimately a personnel matter, where the level of confidentiality required by candidates inhibits the Board's ability to share all information with the public. The Board tried to balance that confidentiality with the public's desire to understand the process. In an effort to seek public input to guide our decisions, the Board initiated a community survey at the start of the search.
