Foundation Donates $50K To Kin Wellness Center In Buckingham
Catherine Getchell was one of the first people in the community to offer a significant financial contribution to Kin.

BUCKINGHAM, PA — The Kin Wellness and Support Center has announced the receipt of a $50,000 donation from the Peter E. and Catherine R. Getchell Foundation.
Kin, which provides free services to cancer patients and their caregivers across Bucks County, is 100 percent funded by the community, relies on donations, both financial and in-kind, to provide care to nearly 200 cancer patients and their families across Bucks County.
Catherine, who also serves as a founding partner of Kin, was one of the first people in the
community to offer a significant financial contribution when the non-profit was in the planning and development phase allowing Kin to fast track and open in record time.

“The first of three cases of cancer in my immediate family prompted me to devote my energies and resources to cancer research for many decades," shares Catherine Getchell. "I still support
research, but when I read about Kin, I could see how such a place would help lift the burden of cancer for both the patient, family, and caregiver. That is why I continue to support Kin.”
“I credit Cathie and her foundation with being a driving force behind making our young non-profit solvent at a crucial time in our growth and development," said Keith Fenimore, founding member and executive director of Kin. "Her early adoption has made a significant impact on our patients. It is my hope that this donation inspires others in the community to look to our 100 percent donation funded non-profit when they want to support local cancer patients in a meaningful way.”
