Here Are The 20 Central Bucks National Merit Finalists

Eight finalists are from Central Bucks East. Four are from CB South and eight are from CB West. Congrats to all!

National Merit Scholarship finalists have been announced, and 20 from the Central Bucks School District made the cut.

Eight finalists are from Central Bucks East. Four are from CB South and eight are from CB West.

The National Merit Scholarship Corporation chooses 50,000 of the highest-scoring participants across the country for program recognition. On average, 3 percent of all CB high school students will get into the NMS program in a given year, the district said.

Finalists receive scholarships. Scholarships are from the National Merit Scholarship Corporation, or can be corporate or college sponsored.

The qualifying standardized test serves as a practice opportunity for the SAT, the most widely-used test for college admission. Approximately 75 percent of Central Bucks high school juniors take the test.

Roughly half of all semifinalists will go on to become finalists, according to the district.
