Inmate Dies After Experiencing Medical Emergency At Bucks Co. Prison

DOYLESTOWN, PA — Another death is under investigation at the Bucks County Correctional Center in Doylestown Township.
The county is reporting that a 30-year-0ld man was discovered in his cell Tuesday morning experiencing a medical emergency.
Staff from the Department of Corrections and emergency medical personnel attempted lifesaving measures, but were unsuccessful, the county reported.
The death is under investigation by the Department of Corrections and the Bucks County Coroner's Office.

On March 21, inmate Ashley Gushue was pronounced dead at Doylestown Hospital, where she was receiving medical care. The 37-year-old woman had been taken to the hospital by ambulance after suffering a "medical event" at the prison.
Gushue was arrested in early March on a bench warrant and had been scheduled for a hearing in April, according to court records.
In early 2023, Gushue was arrested by the Newtown Township Police Department on misdemeanor drug possession charges and summary traffic offenses, including driving while privileges were revoked.
