New Pediatric Center Opens at Doylestown Hospital
The Carol and Louis Della Penna Pediatric Center opened for patient care on Monday and will now be open 24-hours a day, seven days a week.

A new pediatric center is now open at Doylestown Hospital.
The Carol and Louis Della Penna Pediatric Center opened for patient care on Monday and will now be open 24-hours a day, seven days a week.
“We are very excited to be officially opening The Carol and Louis Della Penna Pediatric Center to patients. It is wonderful to see all the energy, hard work and care the hospital and community has put into this Center finally come to fruition,” said Jason Komasz, the center’s lead pediatric hospitalist and medical director.

Some features in the new pediatric center include: wagons instead of stretchers for transport; art supplies; volunteer-made pillowcases that kids can take home; pet therapy with a friendly dog and special decorations on holidays
Local residents Carol and Louis Della Penna provided a generous gift to expand the pediatric services at Doylestown Hospital. “We are proud to be able to promote wellness and good care for our children and grandchildren and for all the families in the Doylestown area,” Louis said.

According to information from Doylestown Hospital, the The Della Penna Pediatric Center is equipped to treat the following medical conditions:
- Respiratory problems like asthma, pneumonia or RSV (respiratory syncytial virus)
- Complications from high fever
- Minor trauma/concussions
- Sports injuries
- Gastrointestinal conditions
- Pain management
- Dehydration
