New Pet Ordinance Approved by Council

The new ordinance is a product of months of work by the Borough's Community and Governmental Affairs Committee.

Doylestown Borough Council on Monday approved a new pet ordinance that outlaws animal cruelty in the borough.

Prior to passing the new ordinance, the borough relied on the state standard to enforce incidents involving animal cruelty.

The new ordinance is a product of months of work by the Borough’s Community and Governmental Affairs Committee, which worked with various groups, including the Bucks County SPCA, to craft the language.

The ordinance, which passed unanimously by council, includes several measures to improve the health and wellbeing of both pets and residents.
