PA Teacher Of The Year: 2 Central Bucks Teachers Among Finalists
Two Central Bucks School District teachers have been named finalists for Pennsylvania's 2019 Teacher of the Year.

DOYLESTOWN, PA — Two Central Bucks School District teachers have been named finalists for Pennsylvania's 2019 Teacher of the Year.
Central Bucks West High School's Leanne Jarossy and Central Bucks South's Will Melvin are among just 12 teachers statewide to make it to the final round.
"It’s been embarrassing really – humbling, but embarrassing," Melvin, who teaches English, said. "There are better teachers than me right here at CB South."

Jarossy also pointed to the commonalities held by other excellent teachers at Central Bucks.
"To be recognized as a leader among them is quite an honor," she said, according to the district. "Although we all teach very different things K-12, I believe we all need to be teaching communication, kindness, collaboration, and perseverance."

The Teacher of the Year recognizes teachers who have made "oustanding contributions to Pennsylvania's school-aged children."
The winner will be announced in Dec. 2019.
