Santarsiero, of Lower Makefield, is seeking his third four-year term as state senator. Bankos, who serves on the Plumstead Township Board of Supervisors, is challenging Santarsiero for the job. Bankos has worked for more than 30 years in the area of business intelligence and data analytics.

Bankos said he's running "because Harrisburg needs to focus on the everyday concerns of the people paying the bills. Seniors worry about losing their lifelong homes to rising school property taxes. Young adults, including my son’s generation, wonder whether they will ever be able to afford to live in Bucks County. Families are working hard and still struggling to keep up."

He continues, "My professional background is in analyzing information, identifying problems, and finding practical solutions. As a township supervisor, I see how government decisions affect our neighbors. Through decades of coaching and volunteering, I have also learned the importance of listening, working together, and following through. I will bring those experiences to Harrisburg and focus on making Pennsylvania more affordable, demanding accountability for taxpayer dollars, and representing our communities. My commitment is simple: solutions for common interests, not special interests."

Santarsiero points to his record of accomplishments over the last eight years, which has included advocating for people in need of support, including the residents of the Mount Eyre neighborhood in Upper Makefield, whose water, air, and soil have been contaminated by a jet fuel leak); securing millions of dollars in grant money for important projects; and writing and passing legislation such as Kayden’s Law (to protect children in custody disputes), Innovate PA 2.0 (investing up to $125 million in the biotechnology sector) and a ban on the use of smartphones and related devices in all K-12 schools.

"But there is more to be done," said Santarsiero, who said he will continue to fight for raising the minimum wage, funding SEPTA, regulating AI and data centers, protecting abortion rights, safeguarding the right to unionize, and passing reasonable gun violence protection laws.
