1. Veteran Discount Cards (newtowngrant.org) — Veterans in Doylestown can schedule appointments at the old Bucks County Courthouse to receive a county Veteran Discount Card and connect with local VA services. The program extends benefits to reservists and National Guard members, and lists key contacts, transportation help, and support resources to make accessing medical, legal, and employment assistance easier for area veterans and their families.
   

2. How Pennsylvania's quarries went on to inspire a national art movement (inquirer.com) — An ongoing exhibit at the Michener Art Museum on South Pine Street in Doylestown explores how local stone quarries shaped Pennsylvania Impressionism and influenced artists nationwide. Curator Laura Igoe highlights works by New Hope painters and rare quarry scenes, and the show runs through February 28, 2027, giving you plenty of time to visit close to home.
   

3. Bucks County DA Launching Hate Roundtable Series (tapinto.net) — Bucks County's district attorney is launching a Safe From Hate Roundtable Series, with a Central Bucks session set for October 19 at Delaware Valley University in Doylestown. Local faith and community leaders will meet with law enforcement to discuss preventing and prosecuting hate crimes, and the events will be livestreamed so Doylestown residents can follow along and learn how cases are handled.
   

4. Woman admits to drug trafficking, 2023 overdose death of Perkasie man (phillyburbs.com) — A Lansdale woman has pleaded guilty to running a violent, multi-county drug trafficking ring tied to several overdose deaths and a nonfatal overdose in Doylestown. Prosecutors say her operation supplied methamphetamine and fentanyl across Bucks, Lehigh, and Philadelphia counties, including drugs linked to a Perkasie man's 2023 fatal overdose, with sentencing still to come.
