Personal Victories, Great Moments at 7th Annual Kids Triathlon at Y

The triathlon is timed, but the event is a compete-to-complete race and the participants are not ranked.

(Doylestown, PA) Warm temperatures and cloudless skies greeted more than 200 young triathletes who participated in the 7th annual Kids Triathlon held Sunday at Central Bucks Family YMCA.
Youth 14 and younger participated in the race which consisted of three events – swimming, biking and running – with distances based on age. A 3-5 year old division (WeeBees) competed accompanied by a parent or guardian in a 12 meter swim, .25 mile bike and .12 mile run.

As they crossed the finish line, runners were given a medal and water bottle by representatives of platinum level sponsor First Savings Bank. Silver level sponsors included Anne O’Day Orthodontics, The Little Gym and Adams Orthodontics.

The triathlon is timed, but the event is a compete-to-complete race and the participants are not ranked. In all, over 100 community volunteers and staff helped to keep the course safe for the children. The event is organized by staff and volunteers of Central Bucks Family YMCA and all proceeds from the triathlon benefit the Y’s Annual Campaign, which ensures that individuals, youth and families can participate in Y programs regardless of their ability to pay.
