Portion Of Lower State Road To Close For A Week Next Month

Lower State Road between New Britain Road and Wisteria Drive in Doylestown Township will completely close for a week next month, PennDOT has announced.

The road will be closed from 9 a.m. Monday, July 9 through 5 p.m. Friday, July 13. The closure is necessary so SEPTA can do grade crossing maintenance, authorities said.

During the around-the-clock closure, Lower State Road motorists will be detoured over Rt. 202, Rt. 611 and State Street.

Local access will be maintained up to the construction zone.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling near the work area because slowdowns will occur during construction, PennDOT said.

The schedule is weather dependent.
