Rt. 313 Bridge Reopens

​The bridge carrying Route 313 over Deep Run in Hilltown and Bedminster townships has reopened.

HILLTOWN TOWNSHIP, PA —The bridge carrying Route 313 over Deep Run in Hilltown and Bedminster townships reopened Friday. The bridge had been under construction since late June and the road had been closed and detoured between Chelfield Road and Applebutter Road.

According to PennDOT, the existing structure has been replaced with a concrete box culvert. The contractor also milled and paved the roadway, installed impact attenuators, and replaced the guiderail.

Built in 1924 and reconstructed in 1940, the single-span bridge is 14 feet long and 38 feet wide and carries an average of 17,018 vehicles a day.

This structure is one of five bridges in Bucks and Chester counties that PennDOT is repairing under a $4 million bridge improvement project.
