Missing Bucks County Men: Cosmo DiNardo, Person Of Interest, Released On Bail

The search for four missing young men resumes Tuesday in Bucks County. Expect delays on Rt. 202 due to police activity, officials said.

Update: 7:10 p.m. Cosmo DiNardo, a person of interest in the case of the four missing men in Solebury Township, has been released from jail after posting bail, which was set at 10 percent of $1 million. DiNardo was arrested Monday on an unrelated weapons charge.

DiNardo's family owns the Solebury farm that is in its third day of being searched. His Bensalem home has been searched in connection with the investigation. According to an affidavit of probable cause, DiNardo was in possession of a Savage Arms 20-gauge shotgun in February. DiNardo is "known to suffer from mental illness and was involuntary committed to a mental institution for inpatient care and treatment," the affidavit said.

Meanwhile, the search for four missing young men continued Tuesday in Bucks County, where law enforcement officials say they're dedicating significant resources in an "all hands on deck" investigation centered on a piece of 90-acre farmland in Solebury.

But for the third day in a row, authorities searched the farm, situated in the midst of bucolic landscape on Rt. 202 between New Hope and Doylestown. They have revealed little about what, if any, evidence has been recovered thus far.

“We have not recovered any human remains to this point, but we continue to work very, very hard on establishing all sorts of investigative leads and confirming those," Weintraub said, adding that he is convinced the property is a crime scene because of "information that I know that I cannot share."

Weintraub said Monday he believes foul play is involved in the disappearance of the men, who all went missing between Wednesday and Friday of last week. Weintraub did not go so far as to call DiNardo a suspect and stressed no charges related to the missing men have been filed.

“We are treating this as a criminal investigation until we know differently,” the district attorney said.

Officials there warned residents to be mindful of a large police presence when traveling on Rt. 202 between Street and Aquetong roads. "Expect delays, police activity throughout the day," Solebury Police said via Twitter.

The flurry of police activity has alarmed residents of this normally quiet community, made up of sprawling farms, well-kept homes and a quaint shopping area.

The New York Times reports police were directed to the farm after the cellphone of one of the missing men, Dean Finocchiaro, was tracked there on Saturday afternoon. Officials have not confirmed information about cellphone tracking, however.

Authorities are not fully certain they've determined the connection between all the men, who range in age from 18 to 22. Weintraub said investigators have information that indicates they in fact know each other, but they're still trying to determine the specifics.

Images from the scene show a backhoe was brought on to the Solebury property on Monday.

The first young man reported missing was Jimi Tar Patrick, 19, of Newtown Township. He was last seen at 6 p.m. Wednesday, July 5.

Mark Sturgis, 22, of Pennsburg went missing Friday night around Routes 202 and 263, where Peddler's Village is located. Tom Meo, 21, of Plumstead was with Sturgis and has also gone missing.

Finocchiaro, 18, also went missing on Friday. According to Middletown Township Police, he was last seen around 6:30 p.m. getting into a car near his home in the Hampton Bridge section of Langhorne. He hasn't been seen or heard from since.

At least 40 police academy cadets from Montgomery County joined the search for evidence on Tuesday.

The investigation involves police departments from across Bucks County, the Bucks County District Attorney's Office, Pennsylvania State Police and the FBI.

Weintraub is urging the community to come forward with tips. Anyone who knows anything about the whereabouts of any of the men should call 215-297-82
