DOYLESTOWN, PA — Should a new Wawa be built at the former TD Bank branch on S. Main Street? The discussion into the matter continues in November.
The Doylestown Borough Planning Commission began discussing a zoning change required to accommodate the proposal at a meeting Tuesday night. The matter will be continued until Tuesday, Nov. 28. That meeting starts at 7:30 p.m.
The Planning Commission will make a recommendation to Borough Council. If the result is favorable, a full land development submission would be required at that point.

If approved, the new Wawa would replace the existing store at S. Main Street and Clemens Road.
Residents have already expressed opposition to the proposal, saying the new store will result in unwanted traffic, noise and light pollution. A flyer being distributed by opponents also says the Wawa would bring down property values in the area, and have a negative impact on local businesses.
