Snow Emergency Declared In Warrington With Blizzard Conditions Expected
The National Weather Service in Mount Holly, N.J., has issued a blizzard warning for the region from 10 a.m. on Sunday to 6 p.m. on Monday.
WARRINGTON TOWNSHIP, PA —Warrington Township has declared a snow emergency beginning at 8 a.m. on Sunday.
"Warrington is closely monitoring the winter storm forecast to impact the area on Sunday and Monday," township officials said. "We appreciate the community’s cooperation as residents take the following steps to support public safety, emergency access, and snow removal operations.”
Due to a regional salt shortage, all of Bucks County is unable to receive additional salt supplies. As a result, limited quantities may impact road conditions in some areas, particularly during periods of heavy snowfall.

Roadways and Parking
- Remove all vehicles from township roadways during snow events.
- Relocate basketball nets, trash cans, and other items away from the curb line.
- Comply with all Snow Emergency parking restrictions when in effect.
- Keeping roadways clear allows snowplows and emergency vehicles to operate safely and efficiently.

- Avoid non-essential travel once snowfall begins
- Allow extra time for necessary travel and expect hazardous conditions.
- Ensure vehicles are fueled and cleared of all snow and ice before driving
Home and Property Safety
- Clear sidewalks, driveways, and fire hydrants as required by ordinance.
- Use caution when shoveling to prevent injury.
- Keep heating systems, exhaust vents, and flues clear of snow and ice Power and Utilities.
- Prepare for possible power outages. Keep flashlights, batteries, and charging devices available.
- Never operate grills or generators indoors
Emergency Access and Community Awareness
- Keep driveways and access points clear for emergency vehicles.
- Monitor official township communications for updates
- Check on elderly neighbors or residents with mobility challenges.
Snow Removal Operations
- Residents may notice that roads appear untreated during or after a storm. This does not always mean plowing has not occurred.
- Road salt is less effective when pavement temperatures fall below approximately 15 degrees.
- During active snowfall, roads may quickly become snow-covered again after plowing.
- Lower-volume residential roads may take longer to clear than main roads.
- Shoveling or blowing snow back into the street can re-cover plowed areas and create hazardous conditions.
- Snow should always be placed on lawns or behind the curb, not in the roadway.

Blizzard conditions are expected with snow accumulations of up to 12 inches and winds gusting up to 45 mph. Snowfall rates could exceed two inches an hour or higher Sunday night, with locally higher amounts and significant drifting of snow possible.
Travel could be very difficult to impossible. Areas of blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. The hazardous conditions will impact the Monday morning and Monday evening commutes. Gust winds could bring down tree branches and result in isolated power outages.
