Stop Sign Violation Leads To DUI Arrest In Warrington

WARRINGTON TOWNSHIP, PA - A Horsham man is facing multiple charges after a stop sign violation led to his arrest for driving under the influence of marijuana.
Police said an officer on patrol observed a vehicle fail to stop at a stop sign at Kansas Road and Garden Avenue and conducted a traffic stop.
While speaking with the driver, the officer said he detected a strong odor of burnt marijuana emanating from the vehicle.

Police said the 35-year-old driver apologized for "running the red light" and admitted there was marijuana inside the vehicle. He was unable to provide a medical marijuana card and said he had smoked the marijuana earlier that morning, police said.
Police asked the man to perform a series of field sobriety tests, which he was unable to complete. He was placed under arrest and transported to the police station, where he was processed.

A search of the vehicle resulted in the recovery of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, police said.
He is charged with DUI (general impairment), DUI (controlled substance), DUI (impairment) and DUI (combined substances).
