Warrington Township Police Department Opens New Station

After years of sharing real estate in the township administration building, Warrington police now have their own space.

WARRINGTON TOWNSHIP, PA — The Warrington Township Police Department hosted a grand opening celebration of its new 18,000 square foot headquarters on Easton Road Friday morning.

The new facility features an in-house training center, a "hoteling" office for collaboration with outside agencies and a high-tech prisoner processing center.

Police Chief Daniel Freil said it was the largest municipal building project in Warrington Township history.

"This is a great day for Warrington," Chief Freil said. "Here we stand, three and a half years of hard work and countless hours of meetings. We're about to move in to this new police facility. It is big and we love it."

State Sen. Maria Collett [D-Lower Gwynedd] said she made the project one of her top funding priorities for her first year in office.

"This facility will protect and serve our police force and community members for years to come," Sen. Collett said.

State Rep. Todd Polinchock [R-Warrington], who also advocated for the new center, praised the department's interaction with the community.

"Our officers deserve and now have a facility capable of housing the training and equipment necessary to keep them and the community safe," Rep. Polinchock said.
